Jennifer Gibian LMT,M.A.

Birth is a universal event.  It happens every day, everywhere.  At the same time, it is an extraordinarily personal experience.  The way in which a birth unfolds is as unique as the woman giving birth, and the baby being born.

As a birth doula, my priority is to get to know you--to discover your ideas about birth, about who you are and who you are becoming.  When there is a partner involved, then the process expands to include him or her.  I want to learn what’s important to both of you, and what visions you might already have for your birth and parenthood.  You can share all that you may already know about giving birth, and ask as many questions as you like about the things that are unfamiliar.  Together, we will find the information and the answers you need.

In this way, I will be able to offer the kind of encouragement and comfort measures that work best for you.  My hope is that when your birthing day arrives, you will have the knowledge, the trust and the support to fully experience your very own, very unique birth.

I am also available as a postpartum doula to ease your transition into new or expanded parenthood.

In addition to my experience with both home and hospital births, I have the following skills and qualifications:

MA, Counseling Psychology, Pacifica Graduate Institute.
